Investing in conservation projects in the Dubuque area. This annual fundraising event will feature live music by Bluegrass Express, guest speaker and climate champion Bill McKibben, and nature storytelling from the Dubuque Area Writers Guild. Proceeds go to environmental-conservation projects supported by the Dubuque Area Land & Water Legacy.
I'll be performing the poem Catching Fire.
Attendees will be asked for contributions of $15 per person or $25 per couple. No one will be turned away. The first 50 individuals/couples will receive souvenir mason jar beverage mugs. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and coolers. The Michoacána Irmanaju mobile ice cream shop will be on site. Event is rain or shine; we will be under the pavilion roof if weather requires.

Mixing Traditional Folk/Americana roots with an Alternative-Indie feel, with a vault of international busking adventures and more than 1300 shows under his belt, Sam’s catalog is steeped in authenticity. His songs trace the roads he’s walked — from city streets to quiet cabins — always searching for something true. If you’re looking for grit, melody and a voice that moves, Sam’s already on the road.
